Golden Rule Lodge will visit the fabulous Detroit Masonic Temple on Saturday, April 17, 2010 to confer the Master Mason Degree on several candidates. The degree work will be followed by a luncheon and a tour of the Detroit Masonic Temple-- the world's largest! We will gather starting at 9 AM on the Fifth Floor for coffee and donuts. Lodge will open at 10 AM. The ladies and non-Masonic guests may choose to visit the nearby Detroit Institute of Arts, or possibly one of the local casinos, before returning for the luncheon at about 2 PM, followed by a tour of the Temple. The Detroit Masonic Temple is an architectural masterpiece which opened in 1928. It is the largest Masonic Temple in the world and contains seven Blue Lodge Rooms in different architectural styles, a Chapter Room, a Commandery Asylum, a Consistory Cathedral (seating around 1,500), the Masonic Auditorium (capacity over 4,000), Crystal Ballroom, Fountain Ballroom, plus numerous dining rooms, parlors, offices, etc. Not to mention the ten-story Shrine Club! This will be a wonderful outing for the ladies and will serve as an excellent introductory event for potential Masons and their wives. Masonic visitors are cordially invited to attend the day's events, as well. Luncheon reservations are a must! Contact the Worshipful Master or Secretary to make reservations or to obtain futher information. |
